An old photo, but Karl in all his moody, mustachioed, mulleted, magnificence. At this time, the leading league wicket taker in a title winning team, hard-boiled and barely into his 20's. Quick enough and skiddy, with a bit in the wicket and he was unplayable. Never said a lot, prone to the occasional expletive laden rant just to let everyone know he cared - we all knew that was never in doubt. Hampered by knee issues from a young age that reduced his effectiveness. From the best in the league to a little below that level, still a top ten league bowler and a mighty effective one. Easily top five of homegrown quicks, agile fielder as befits a more than competent local league goalkeeper. He's played on whenever his travels have allowed, captaining the 3rds to a league championship win a couple of years ago and now about to become a pub landlord again. The time honoured way most fast bowlers earned a crust after retiring from the game - we wish him well.
